Lukas Groen is a well-respected enterprising conductor, professor and developer with many fresh ideas, fantasy and creativity, excellent communication technique and wide knowledge of repertoire.
During the last 20 years he has divided his time between conducting, teaching and developing new projects. As close friend of the Järvi family, he founded and developed the Järvi Academy, Pärnu Music Festival and Baltic Academies Orchestra. He worked and works closely together with legends as Neeme Järvi, Gennadi Rozhdestvensky, Kristjan Järvi and was regularly invited to replace them. He also collaborated with many top soloists and pedagogues such as Lev Klychkov, Alexander Toradze, Tatjana Berman, Martin Kuuskman, Sebastian Eyp, Konstantin Timokhine and others. As professor and consultant he was involved in the creation of the Gstaad Academy for Conducting at the Menuhin Festival in Switzerland.
He now leads the Baltic Academies Orchestra and conducts the Estonian Chamber Orchestra Glasperlenspiel Sinfonietta and Corelli Baroque Orchestra.
As teacher and coach he is popular with the young generation of talented conductors, such as Nil Venditti, who has been just signed by HarrisonParrott; James Salomon Kahane chief of Helsinki Chamber Orchestra and Assistant at Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra; Artūrs Gailis; Georgios Balatsinos, Andres Kaljuste, Jaan Ots (former assistant conductor at Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra); Alvin Ho; Artun Hoinic and many others.
