Andrea Lorenzo Scartazzini’s Torso – Epitaph opens Lucerne Symphony Orchestra’s season
Andrea Lorenzo Scartazzini’s orchestral work Torso – Epitaph was performed by the Lucerne Symphony Orchestra on 14 and 15 October 2026 at the KKL Luzern, under the direction of chief conductor Michael Sanderling.
The performances formed part of the orchestra’s season-opening concerts, pairing Scartazzini’s contemporary work with Gustav Mahler’s Symphony No. 2, Resurrection.
Two works were brought together in the programme, which engage with questions of mortality and remembrance, placing Scartazinni’s music in dialogue with one of the most significant works of the late-Romantic symphonic repertoire.
The concert took place in the Concert Hall of the KKL Luzern, one of Switzerland’s leading concert venues.
