Hannes Seidl and Sergej Newski elected to the Akademie der Künste Berlin

We are delighted to share that two of our composers — Hannes Seidl and Sergej Newski — have been elected as new members of the Akademie der Künste in Berlin.

Membership of the Akademie is awarded through election by its existing members, bringing together leading artists from across the fields of visual arts, architecture, music, literature, performing arts, and film and media arts.

Seidl and Newski join the Akademie’s Music Section alongside fellow newly elected members Unsuk Chin, Clara Maïda and Clemens von Reusner.

Their election represents an important recognition of their artistic work and contribution to contemporary music.
